Fix: This happens mostly with Prolific chips. Windows 10 automatically updates drivers to versions that block counterfeit or older chips. You must roll back the driver to a 2008 or 2014 version using the "Let me pick from a list of available drivers" option in Device Manager.

After installing the driver, Windows 10 needs to assign a stable communication port to your plotter. Open again and expand Ports (COM & LPT) .
