Zenonia was a true pioneer. In an era where most mobile games were simple puzzle or arcade titles, Gamevil set out to create a "mobile action role-playing game that could simulate the reality of the real world," according to Yong Hee Jung, the game's project manager. The development process took about 18 months, a massive investment for a mobile game at the time, driven by a desire to offer a deep, narrative-driven experience on phones and feature phones.
